Needle petition: background info.
from RBK website:
Since Surbiton Health centre opened in March, the parents of Lime Tree School, Health Centre users and residents have become aware of the range of services at the Centre. One of these services is the needle exchange and provision of methadone, which the parents and the community had not previously been made aware of. This is causing great concern. Combined with some inappropriately placed benches in the Health centre grounds facing the playground means action is needed to ensure the parents feel their children are safe. The Council needs to urge the CCG to deal with this and ensure that the CCG and Surbiton Health centre both communicate the facts with residents and parents as well as remove the service and benches.
The latest signature count is 197, which is a lot considering the petition has only been running a few days. Ed.
