Works outside 90/92 Ewell Road

This explanation has been received from RBK Highways:-

Due to escaping gas entering ducting belonging to BT , there have  been two pits, located between the hospital and 90/92 Ewell Road, being used as ‘venting’ points for safety reasons. This is a recognised standard practice.

The markings outside the premises relate to further works to locate and repair another leak on a possible old redundant supply. This was due to have been carried out on Sunday as the location is in the carriageway in the middle of the hospital entrance. Unfortunately, due to other emergency works, this had to be postponed and now re-planned for this coming Sunday (2^nd May).
