Latest news on services to hand from RBK

Environmental Services

Gritting: 100% of gritting crews were mobilised yesterday afternoon / night at 3pm Sunday afternoon and at 4am Monday morning. All main roads were passable with care and at 11.30am this morning.

Gritting commenced on all routes again at 10.30am. The weather forecast is for further snow this afternoon and evening when the priority will be to keep major routes clear and passable with care.  All routes will be gritted again from around 4pm. Depending on the weather a further gritting will be undertaken from approximately 9pm.

TfL have asked that all bus routes be given priority and that is happening as a matter of course within our planned operations

Presently the weather forecast suggests no further snow from midnight with freezing conditions throughout the night. If this remains the situation gritting on all routes will commence from 5am on Tuesday morning. Should this forecast change the option remains available to grit again between midnight and 5.00am.

Street Cleansing, Recycling and Refuse Collections are suspended and are likely to be suspended on Tuesday. A recovery plan for collections is being developed.
