Kingston lights up the sky on bonfire night
(from the RBK website) Kingston Round Table and Kingston Rotary Club are delighted to announce that once again they will be hosting Kingston’s only organised community firework display on Friday 2 November 2007 at the Kingsmeadow Athletics and Fitness Centre stadium next door to the Wimbledon AFC football ground in Kingston Road. The organisers promise a display full of colour, noise and excitement. The evening entertainment will include children’s fairground rides and music provided by Radio Jackie who will be broadcasting live in the arena. This family event prioritises firework safety and visitors are advised not to bring sparklers to the event as these will not be permitted by the stewards. Catering and toilet facilities will be available on site during the evening.
Tickets are much cheaper if you buy in advance. Advance tickets cost £4 for adults and £3 for children aged between 5 and 11. These are available at the Kingston Tourist Information Centre, Market House, Market Place, Kingston, by telephoning 020 8547 5592 or you can purchase tickets online by visiting the Kingston Council events page.
Advance tickets can also be bought in person at Kingsmeadow Athletics and Fitness Centre, Tolworth Recreation Centre, the Malden Centre and the Kingfisher Leisure Centre.
On the evening of the event, tickets can be bought on the gate: £6 for adults and £4 for children aged between 5 and 11.
Kingsmeadow Stadium will be open from 6.30pm, with Radio Jackie providing some entertainment before the firework display, which begins at 8.00pm. All surplus proceeds raised from the event will go to local charities.
