Discounted Compost Bins (from RBK website)
Kingston has joined up with the Recycle Now Home Composting Campaign, a government funded scheme to encourage people to reduce the waste they send to landfill. Recycle Now subsidises the cost of compost bins and the home delivery. This means that residents of the borough can purchase a standard 220ltr black compost bin for only £17.00 when the regular price is £40.00!
Free home delivery is also included in this reduced price, so hurry and order yours today as stocks are limited!
So how is it possible to sell bins at such low prices? Buying in large volumes direct from manufacturers lets Recycle Now offer the bins for less.
To order a discounted compost bin visit the Recycle Now website or download and fill in the order form found at the bottom of the page.
For further information on composting in the borough please email waste.management@rbk.kingston.gov.uk or telephone 020 8547 5560.

Road and footway improvements at last.
Residents of Oakhill will be pleased that , after years of pressure, we have managed to get the Neighbourhood to resurface Oakhill Road and the adjoining road, making for a much less perilous journey to the medical centre. Lovelace residents are about to receive a letter informing them that part of Lovelace Road is the have its pavement renewed. Below is a photo taken by Paul two years ago to highlight the problem local residents face.
New Residents Association launched
Nick Kilby and Paul Johnston last night presided over an enthusiatic meeting of about 30 residents of Ellerton and Bond Roads who had come together with a view to starting a Residents Association to promote good neighbourliness and pursue common concerns in the two roads. The move arose from the work Nick and Paul had done over the last two years, together with residents, Council officers and the Safer Neighbourhood Team to tackle anti-social behaviour. The police were represented by two PCSOs.
Residents interested in joining should contact Nick or Paul for the time being, though it is hoped that a steering group of rsidents will soon be formed.
Waste changes begin
As of Monday 2 June, the RBK flats recycling service (orange bags and food waste collections) will be taken over by the new recycling and refuse contractors Veolia Environmental Services. Residents will experience no change to the service they receive on Monday and the crew working on the rounds will remain the same. The crew will be wearing a different uniform and be driving different vehicles.
