We understand that, as the debate at South of the Borough Neighbourhood Committee went on for three hours, the Co- chair, John Burgess (Lib Dem) intends to guillotine the debate at Surbiton Heighbourhood Committee to one hour.
While deploring the prolonging of meetings by repetitive arguments, we cannot support the imposition of a ‘guillotine’ in this manner by the Lib Dems before the meeting has even begun. Nor can we accept the proposition that the concerns of the people of Alexandra, Berrylands, Surbiton Hill and St. Marks are only worth 1/3 of the time allotted to those of Chessington South (inc. Malden Rushett), Chessington North and Hook.
