Help shape the future of Surbiton Neighbourhood

February 17, 2010

RBK Press Release

People who live or work in Surbiton and Tolworth are being invited to help shape the future of the area by attending one of two public workshops taking place in March.

The workshops are an ideal way for local people to get involved in the development of the Surbiton Community Plan, an important document that will help the Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee develop its future policies and aspirations for the area.

Planning, traffic, parks, youth centres, libraries and road maintenance are just some of the services directly managed by the Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee.  The Committee also has influence over many other services provided by the Council and its partners including waste, housing, education, crime prevention, health and transport.  By getting involved in the development of the Community Plan, residents can influence how these services are planned and managed in the future.

The workshops will take place on Thursday 4 March at 2pm and Wednesday 10 March at 7pm and will be held at Glenmore House, The Crescent, Surbiton, KT6 4BN.

To book a place on one of the workshops or to find out about other ways you can contribute to the development of the Surbiton Community Plan, please contact Christina Gardner, Kingston Council’s Surbiton Neighbourhood Manager, on 020 8547 5369, e-mail surbitoncommunityplan@rbk.kingston.gov.uk or visit www.kingston.gov.uk/surbiton_community_plan
