Rubbish collections

We have been accused of misleading the public about the new waste scheme to be introduced in the autumn.

We have always advocated  a weekly recyclate collection service. We did so at the last election when the Lib Dems ‘rubbished’ (pardon the pun!) the idea as unaffordable. But we wanted to keep the weekly rubbish collection we have now – rubbish being that which cannot be recycled. That’s what the petition was all about that 5,500 people signed. Interestingly the Lib Dems are now ‘rubbishing’ this idea as unaffordable too.
