The state of Lovelace Road

Plane tree roots are causing considerable damage to the footway in Lovelace Road, as this photograph clearly shows. In some places the degree of heave is worse than shown here. The picture below demonstrates this.

 Paul Johnston has asked the Council’s officers what can be done to keep the pavement safe for pedestrians while preserving the life of our valued plane trees. Any thoughts from residents would be greatly appreciated too.
