Kingswood Close inspected
Kingswood Close has now been inspected and the Council’s contractor alerted as to the repairs that are needed.
Kingswood Close
We’ve just heard that Kingswood Close will be inspected by Mr. Jolly in the next day or two.
Oakhill potholes to be filled in
Paul Johnston has received the following from the Surbiton Neighbourhood officer:-
Dear Councillor Johnston
Further to your previous enquiry regarding the above, this is to let you know that I am advised by Richard Jolly, street scene inspector that, as the carriageway will be resurfaced next year the following actions will be taken:
(1) Potholes to be filled with temporary repair with black-top on the carriageway for Oakhill
(2) Repairs to footway to be made permanent
(3) Patching works to be carried out in Oakhill Grove footway and carriageway.
We hope to get them to look at Kingswood Close at the same time!
Kingston has no cash in Icelandic banks
Residents should be reassured that Kingston Council has no money currently on deposit in any Icelandic bank. This is owing to what the Surrey Comet calls ‘the adoption of a more conservative strategy’ five months ago. We can’t argue with that!
Speeding in Thornhill Road
New 20 mph roundels will shortly appear to remind drivers that Thornhill Road is a 20 mph zone. Drivers often put their foot down if they see a clear path between the parked vehicles. This is extremely dangerous as children often emerge from between two parked cars, as happened last week when an accident involved a 14 year old girl.
