Seasonal activities at Tolworth Library
Residents in the southern part of Surbiton Hill might be interested in the following from the RBK Library Service:-
Our Local History display charting The History of Tolworth Broadway has finally been completed and is looking quite resplendent in the Study Area. It has been garnering a lot of interest by our users and certainly provided the perfect backdrop for our Local History Coffee Morning on the 15th. This first, in what I hope will be a series of similar events, was a real joy as it provided a wonderful opportunity for the Library, Local History Room and members of our local community to come together and interact. And this we did. It was very clear to me, from every member present, just how much an activity of this kind is appreciated. It not only provides a wonderful forum for the local community to come in and discuss something close to their heart, their community, but it also shows what a wealth of knowledge abounds in our communities waiting to be tapped…
Please note the coffee morning on the 15th!

Ewell Road dangerous…’Surrey Comet’ agrees
We published this photograph, taken by a resident of Iris Close, earlier this year. Since February we have been trying to get RBK traffic engineers and TfL to take seriously the danger posed by speeding traffic especially, it seems, at the Kingsdowne Road/ Ewell Road/ Hollyfield Road area.
We welcome the article by Lisa Williams of the ‘Surrey Comet’ (see http://www.surreycomet.co.uk/news/localnews/display.var.1813631.0.kingston_road_danger_list.php) as a contribution to the campaign. Perhaps, with the help of the press, we can get TfL, whose road it now is, to take Ewell Road’s problems seriously.
We had been looking to get some sort of traffic calming in the area where this accident (one of 3 this year to involve injury to persons and/or damage to walls) occurred. We are disappointed that a Lib Dem councillor for Berrylands, quoted in the article, does not seem to support such a move.
